The Board of Commissioners of Sycamore Park District (SPD) has adopted a Short-Term Plan to guide its operations for the next two years. That Plan was developed over the summer and early fall, and allowed for two months of review by residents of the park district through public hearings, presentation to the media, input from the park district’s Citizens Advisory Committee, and Sycamore Chamber of Commerce, City of Sycamore, and the Sycamore Public Schools.
The Sycamore Park District faces a number of pressing issues in the near future, but must first work on getting its operating budget in order and address some core issues related to communication, programming, aging assets, customer service, and partneriships. Additionally, it must use its limited resources to address its ADA Transition Plan.
Issues facing the park district in the future include:
· Improving our existing parks
· Developing walking and biking trails
· Building a new community center
